A clear photo gives your portrait the best start. Here is how to choose one.

What works best

Eye level. Get down on their level. Photos taken from above change their features.
Natural light. Soft daylight is best. Avoid harsh flash.
Their face in frame. A clear phone photo is plenty, one pet per photo.

What to avoid

Blur. Motion blur makes it hard to capture their personality.
A hidden face. Make sure their ears and face are clearly visible.
